The Rise of Shadow

After his desperate mission to save Ronan, Laran returns to Lindra with his pride and body broken. The duke’s need for veteran sumar has never been greater, but if Laran ever wants to pick up a sword again, he’ll need to discover a new way to fight.

Jamie returns to Lindra expecting a hero’s welcome. Instead he finds a city in chaos, where doors that have always been open to him and his coin are now closed. Disowned and dishonored, he must choose whether to surrender to his selfish desires or fight for a city that no longer wants him. While Laran and Jamie return home, Ronan travels with his new allies to Gutan. There, he hopes to learn how to control his mysterious strength. But Gutan is nothing like home, and the monsters that wanted to capture him before now want him dead.

As dark forces gather quietly around our heroes, fate throws Ronan, Jamie, and Laran together for a task that will carry them across their duchy and into the heart of a malevolent enemy.
