Kai had won the fief war, but as a result of his victory, half the nobles in the kingdom want him dead and he had been invited to participate in the Assembly of Judgment—One that would determine his future.

But where others see danger, he sees opportunity.

An opportunity to finally build his own faction and gain political power in a kingdom threatening to break under the unruly princes. But before he could do that, he need to get his hand on the medallion his mother had left behind alongside her inheritance.

To do that, Kai would travel to the Ashari desert, the manaless land of duneborn orcs that rules over the human tribes and whose rise might be connected to his own inheritance.
