He advances in louder ways, as he gathers and understands his Fatepieces. He advances in quieter ways, as the goblin Nrorce and his farming methods teach him the limits of the Nexus. He advances in inner ways, watching the children of Kharon Academy grow. He advances in outer ways, making deals with Claudette Beigon.

But all this growth is overshadowed by an unexpected variable: the Swacc Family, the same force that has repeatedly sought to subjugate him, has broken the laws of the Nexus. An official force will be dispatched to bring the leaders into custody.

Randidly Ghosthound approaches his superior officer, the ambitious and cruel Commandant Wick, to join the force and do some sabotaging of his own. But as he wades deeper into the conflict, he will realize that even this is a prelude to a larger game.

And a single mistake can obliterate a lifetime of growth.
